With carriage rides through historic Mount Dora and all-day dance lessons, merchants brought music, menus of food and merriment to members of the ton during the recent Modiste Market at the Lakeside Inn.
The market, which is put on once a year by the Orange Blossom Market Co., is a Regency-themed shopping event inspired by the Netflix television series “Bridgerton.” On June 23, patrons visited the market for a taste of life in Regency England.
“In Bridgerton, characters frequented the modiste to acquire elegant attire, inspiring the name The Modiste Market,” said Sheena Willis, owner of Orange Blossom Market Co. and lead planner of the event.
